South-West London
A Victorian house in south-west London
This Victorian property, adjacent to common land, benefits from views, snippets of dog-walking conversations and associated wildlife drawn to the area.
From inside the modern conservatory (which really does feel like the proverbial ‘room outside’) the clients wanted a view through trees as if they were in a Peter Doig painting and architectural plants to add a “dusting of Dixter”.
Aralia spinosa (providing the Doig-like views) and other exotics vie for attention but the star of the show has to be the boulder bird-bath which services the local bird population very well (see Chelsea Flower Show 2016).
