Eel Pie Island 1

A quiet sanctuary on the River Thames

Eel Pie Island is a small private island in the Thames at Twickenham. It’s home to a thriving community of artists/creators its heyday being during the 1960s when artists such as Pink Floyd, The Who and the Rolling Stones regularly played there.

Access is via a footbridge or boat making any work on the island more challenging but this has helped the island retain its idiosyncratic character.

This garden, situated on the north side of the island and in the shade of mature beech trees, is largely evergreen enjoying a private paradise with plants chosen for their textural qualities and year-round interest.
